If you read the post below about the Walk for Hope, you probably guessed that I have been touched personally by the big "C" . My grandmother (A.K.A my hero) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1996...the day I learned of her diagnosis will go down as one of the scariest days of my life. Being the compulsive person I am, I dove in to the internet learning everything I could about treatment options, stages, possible outcomes, and more stats than I can count. I literally spent every free minute of my time researching this frightening disease. Grams was lucky. They caught her tumor very early, it had not yet spread to her lymph nodes or into her chest cavity, and her treatment was successful. She is a survivor...she is a champion...and I celebrate her life, daily!
When I learned of the THINK PINK photography network, there was not a second's hesitation before I signed on with this wonderful organization. Think Pink Photography was founded in October 2007 to support individuals and their families who have been touched by breast cancer. We are a non-profit organization that serves two main purposes - celebrating life and supporting the cause.
Through our photography network, we are helping breast cancer survivors and their supporters to celebrate life with charitable photography sessions. Sessions are available to document the fight before or during treatment or to celebrate the victory when treatment is completed. Please see the "Celebrating Life" section of the THINK PINK website for more details and information.
Through donations and various fundraising efforts, all profits from Think Pink Photography will be donated to The Beverly Family Foundation. As a 3-time breast cancer survivor, Danielle Beverly and her husband Eric joined together to form a foundation dedicated to promoting education, increasing awareness, and providing support and resources for families who have been touched by breast cancer.
As Think Pink Photography grows, so will the opportunities for you to become involved and support this important cause. I encourage you to sign up for our newsletter (on the Think Pink website and Think Pink blog) and tell your friends and family about Think Pink Photography. Awareness is everything and we can't be successful without you.
I encourage you to view our website, make a donation, or hire a photographer that supports Think Pink Photography! If you hire me, mention Think Pink and I will make a personal donation to the organization.
